Project 1 (Group)
"Material Experience in Architecture:
Structural & Architectural Building Material Applications"
In a group of 7, students are required to conduct a detailed case study of a notable building in Kuala Lumpur or Selangor. The objective is to identify and analyze five architectural materials and two structural materials used in the building. The group must also select one material that significantly impacts user experience and provide a detailed illustration of its installation process. The findings will be presented on a single A1 size board, including the building's historical background, images and details of the materials, an analysis of the chosen material and its installation, relevant building images, and a conclusion on material application.

Reflection
TGC 1.0: Discipline Specific Knowledge
In this assignment, I was able to identify the architect and gain a deeper understanding of the building's background. This enhanced my knowledge of architectural styles and provided insight into the architectural and structural materials used.
TGC 2.0: Lifelong Learning
Upon submission, I felt grateful for the deeper understanding I got about why certain materials are chosen for different architectural projects. By diving into the materials' characteristics and visiting sites, I learned a lot about how these materials impact the overall building design.
TGC 3.0: Thinking and Problem Solving skills
My creative and critical thinking abilities were strengthened as I honed the skills to demonstrate the installation of building materials on buildings. I got a deeper insights of the reinforced concrete installation method used in Starhill Gallery that would be very useful for me in construction projects.
