Project 2
"Construction Details"
In this project, students are required to demonstrate their understanding of construction principles through manual drawing, which will contribute to their final ADII project. This assignment aims to assess students' understanding of building construction through detailed drawings and model making. It emphasizes the intricate detailing of building elements and highlights the crucial relationship between design and technical knowledge. The final outcome is to develop a construction section detailing from roof to foundation and to create a cake slice physical model that reflects the unique design of their ADII project. Additionally, students are required to design a distinct special detail as part of the assignment.
ARTWORK
In integration with ADII Project 3, one section of the model is cut and analyzed to examine construction methods, joineries, and materiality. This roof to foundation detail construction section is illustrated at a scale of 1:25. Additionally, a cake slice model at the same scale (1:25) is produced, along with a drawing of a special construction detail that connects two different materials, illustrated at a scale of 1:10.

Reflection
TGC 1.0: Discipline Specific Knowledge
Upon submission, I felt appreciative as I gained extensive knowledge about construction, including materiality, building foundations, structural components, and more. This knowledge will be valuable for practical implementation in future projects.
TGC 2.0: Lifelong Learning
I’ve refined my ability to demonstrate my understanding of construction through manual drawings and a physical model. I’ve come to realize that the success of any design project depends on effectively addressing construction methods, integrating structural elements seamlessly, and selecting materials wisely. Although I missed some construction details in this project, I believe I can learn from this experience and improve in future projects.
TGC 6.0: Intrapersonal Skills
I've reflected on the importance and benefits of designing a structure that meets users' needs and incorporates structural components, gaining insight into how buildings are developed in response to practical considerations.
