Project 2
"Sketching Analysis"
In this project, we are required to five historical buildings spanning various eras. The goal is to conduct thorough research and architectural analysis to manually create an A4 Sketches booklet, each building depicted in colored form individually. The objective is to familiarize students with conducting research analysis, assembling information, organizing studies, and creating layouts. It aims to cultivate visual and critical thinking by studying precedents through diagramming and introducing the fundamental principles of form, space, and order in Modern Malaysian architectural design.
ARTWORK
A4 Sketches Booklet
I selected Stonehenge, Temple of Horus, The Pantheon, St. Peter’s Basilica, and Chiswick House as my chosen historical buildings. Following extensive research, I delved into exploring their visual composition and extracting key information for my sketches booklet. Transforming this information into graphical representations added an engaging dimension. Finally, I utilized color pencils and watercolors as mediums in my drawings.

Reflection
TGC 1.0: Discipline Specific Knowledge
In this assignment, I am able to apply my knowledge effectively to identify, analyze, and extract valuable insights regarding architectural styles and historical building components through my research. Subsequently, I compiled this information into an A4 sketches booklet.
TGC 2.0: Lifelong Learning
This assignment allowed me to adeptly gather, synthesize, and utilize internet-researched details about selected buildings, integrating them into sketch booklets. Furthermore, I showcased my ability for self-directed learning by independently researching these historical buildings online.
TGC 3.0: Thinking and Problem Solving skills
My creative and critical thinking abilities were strengthened as I honed my time management skills upon realizing I had limited time for completing the drawings. To mitigate potential issues with space limitations and untidiness, I pre-planned my drawings to prevent the need for redoing them.
TGC 4.0: Communication Skills
Through this project, I developed the skill of conveying my drawings clearly and effectively to others by improving my visual composition and presenting them in a more graphic style. Additionally, I incorporated color pencils and watercolors as my mediums to enhance the visual appeal of my booklets.
